Transfer Sewer Service

To transfer service on a northwest Lakewood Sanitation sewer utility account, the title company should call our office 48 hours prior to the closing date and order a final bill for the property. At that time, we will provide an amount to collect and prorate between the buyer and seller at the time of closing.

To order a final bill and get closing figures, please email us at final@sdmsi.com. Please include all the following information or use the downloadable form:

  • Property address.
  • Seller's name.
  • New buyer's name.
  • Whether the new buyers will occupy the property; if not, please leave their billing address.
  • Closing date.
  • Your return-call/fax information.

Downloadable form: Final Request form (PDF)

We will typically call you with a verbal status the same day we receive the email but please allow for a 48 hour turn-around time.

**Please note we will only provide a verbal status once we have all of the above information, until we process the final invoice.**

The Northwest Lakewood Sanitation District sewer utilities are lienable against the properties. Liens are filed once a year with the Jefferson County Assessor's Office and are attached to the property taxes as a special assessment. Balances are tied to the properties and are normally collected after receiving final bills which the title companies collect at the time of closing.
